1. Best Practice Support Programs (Queensland only)
L&SC Strategies are a Third Party Provider to QMI Solutions.
Subsidised funding has been approved for eligible Manufacturers with eligible manufacturing improvement projects.
- Queensland State Government funding allocated for your region for subsidising manufacturing improvement programs
- Up to 25 subsidised consulting days available per Manufacturer
- Minimal paperwork on your part
- Funding approved within 5-10 days
- All expenses (including travel and accommodation) are fully subsidised, so all you pay for is the work we do at half price!

The purpose of the subsidised funding is to assist you to fund your manufacturing improvement project whilst utilising assistance from L&SC Strategies to plan and implement your project.
Step 1: Is your company eligible?
- Registered business with an ABN, trading for more than 3 years
- Queensland based company, or manufacturing facility based in Queensland
- Less than 200 FTE employees in Queensland, and less than 500 employees in total
- Annual turnover from Queensland operations less than $65M
- Within DEEDI's Priority Sectors (ie. Department of Employment, Economic Development & Innovation) if you are unsure please contact us
- Has completed a Manufacturing Microscope (via QMI or DEEDI), or equivalent (Enterprise Connect Business Review) if you are unsure please contact us.

2. Major Projects Supplier Program (MPSP) - Capability Assessment & Planning (Queensland only)
L&SC Strategies are a Third Party Provider to the Industry Capability Network Queensland (ICN Qld), a division of QMI Solutions.
ICN Qld will receive $6.45M over the next 5 years from the State Government to ensure manufacturers are provided with the opportunity to increase their capabilities to access major projects.
Three fully subsidised consulting days are available to 100 companies per year, to assist the companies to develop a plan to address their skills and capability gaps against the needs of major projects; and to assist in completion and initiation of the plan.
MPSP is designed for companies targeting work on Major Projects.
Eligibility guidelines for Manufacturers:
- Established operating base(s) in Queensland
- ABN with minimum of two years trading history
- A guideline operating revenue between $2m-$65m/up to 200 employees
- Operates in the manufacturing and related service sector with appropriate track record of supply
- Has tendered for and been successful in other supply chain projects
- Has systems/approvals/certifications that demonstrate capacity to undertake and implement business improvement activity
- Has key personnel, management support and financial capacity to implement agreed change.

3. Enterprise Connect - Business Review & Tailored Advisory Services (Australia-wide)
L&SC Strategies are a service provider via Enterprise Connect
A fully subsidised Business Review is undertaken by an Enterprise Connect Business Advisor (valued at $10,000). The Business Review Report indicates areas where the company may require external assistance, in addition to internal actions required.
Tailored Advisory Services funding up to $20,000 (matched dollar-for-dollar by the client) is available to fund external assistance to address critical business needs.
To be eligible for a Business Review, all firms must:
- possess an Australian Company Number (ACN) or in the case of Remote Enterprise SMEs, an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- meet the relevant turnover or expenditure thresholds refer attached brochure
- be solvent
- have filed Business Activity Statements for at least three consecutive years
- operate in one of the following sectors or regions:
- Manufacturing or Manufacturing related services
- Mining Technology
- Defence
- Clean Energy
- Creative Industries
- Remote Australia
- not have received an equivalent Business Review service, that provides a holistic analysis of the SME's business, from other government (Australian, state or territory or local) programs within the
last three calendar years. - comply with its obligations under the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (EOWWA). Companies on the current list of non-compliant organisations, available at www.eowa.gov.au are not eligible to apply. Note: The EOWWA currently applies to organisations with 100 or more employees.

4. Jobs Assist - Business Support Program (Queensland only)
L&SC Strategies is an approved provider of consultants to the Jobs Assist - Business Support Program.

Queensland has moved towards a preventative approach to job losses, focusing on helping businesses to be resilient through job creation and economic growth.The Queensland Government provides assistance and support to help businesses to help themselves – strong, resilient businesses help to protect jobs which ensures that the Queensland economy is in a strong position to take advantage of future growth.
The Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (the Department) has implemented the Jobs Assist program that provides strong support for businesses that have been identified as financially vulnerable requiring support services. Jobs Assist will provide support to vulnerable businesses with 10 or more FTE’s within the Priority Employment Areas identified by the Federal Government under the Keep Australia Working strategy or to businesses in other areas with 10 or more FTE’s that are in key sectors considered to be critical or strategic to the State, region or industry or in a significant sectoral supply chain.
Support will be provided in two stages.
Stage 1 will provide up to $3,000 to engage a consultant to conduct a complete business assessment of the Customer’s business and develop an Action Plan to address all strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the business including addressing deficiencies in the working capital, and effectiveness of the business’s reporting process. The Action Plan will also include strategies and actions to support and improve the business.
Stage 2 will provide up to $5,000 to guide and support the customer to implement the activities identified as immediate priority tasks in your Action Plan that can include:
- funding for the engagement of a specialist selected from the consultant database to mentor and support the customer as they implement the priority tasks identified in the your business action plan
- funding for all or a contribution to a State and/or Federal support program or provider training program costs that have been identified as an immediate priority task in the customer’s business action plan
- funding for other support services identified as immediate priority tasks in the customer’s action plan. This can occur through the engagement of business experts who can design/develop strategies or processes required by the customer’s business and provide support necessary during the implementation process for the task. Business specialist who can provide these support services are chosen from the Department’s Consultant Database.
Jobs Assist will not provide funds for any costs associated with items of a capital nature nor does it provide funds to cover the costs of the actual implementation process into the business.
Customer Eligibility
The eligibility criteria under this activity are that the business must:
1. be one of the following:- be located within a Priority Employment Area under the Federal Government’s Keep Australia Working strategy (refer Priority Employment Areas)
- fall within key industries and be considered of critical or strategic importance to the State, region, industry or in a significant sectoral supply chain
2. be experiencing one of the following:
a. the variation in working capital is negative and has declined by more than 25% between the two points in time i.e. 30 June 2009 and the most recent reporting period, or
b. the business begins the two point period with negative working capital and remains in that position at the end of the two point period.
3. employ 10 or more FTE’s
4. have an established operating base in Queensland
5. have an ABN (registered in QLD) and be registered for GST
Outcomes for the Customer
Stage 1A business assessment is undertaken by an experienced consultant to:
• identify deficiencies in the working capital
• identify issues impacting on the business
• identify management reporting processes
• develop an Action Plan to improve business performance.
Stage 2
Proposed outcomes include:
• improved working capital position
• sustained business activity and existing employment levels maintained
• improved business knowledge
• improved business management skills and reporting processes
• increased efficiency and productivity levels
• improved business and employment outcomes
• benefit through other identified support mechanisms.
